Overview

Crown Trade Clean Extreme Clean Air Scrubbable Matt contains air purifying technology that improves indoor air quality by removing up to 45% of the formaldehyde present from the air. In addition, the unique breatheasy formulation ensures only a trace of VOCs are emitted. Both of these aspects provide for a kinder environment during and after decorating.

The paint also performs to ISO Class 1 scrub ratings ensuring no compromise in the integrity or the appearance of the finished surface and provides durability and longevity of the decoration. New and aged stains can be easily cleaned away, returning walls to an "as new" condition - reducing the need for costly redecoration. This product provides the optimum opacity within a scrubbable formulation. Non scrubbable products may provide better opacity.

Preparation

To achieve the best results it is important that all surfaces must be sound, clean, suitably dry and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied.

New Surfaces

Porous surfaces should be coated with a 'mist' coat of Crown Trade Clean Extreme Clean Air Scrubbable Matt diluted with 40% clean water by volume
Any areas of surface filling after priming should be touched in with the priming or mist coat diluted as for main areas
Powdery surfaces should be primed with one coat of Sandtex Trade Quick Drying Stabilising Soloution
Polished or dense surfaces should be primed with Crown Trade PX3 All Purpose Primer or where a water-based alternative is required Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer

Previously Decorated Surfaces

Remove all loose, failing or suspect paint. Feather edges of sound paint
Organic growth must be treated with Sandtex Fungicidal Wash and removed
Fill any fixing holes, cracks and shallow surface defects with Sandtex Ready Mixed Masonry Filler
Patch prime bare, filled and powdery areas as for new surfaces above
Wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants, frequently changing the water
Any glossy or eggshell surfaces should be wet abraded to provide a key
Rinse with clean water to remove all residues. Allow to dry
If after cleaning any areas are still contaminated with substances likely to cause staining and / or bleeding, patch prime with one coat of Crown Trade PX4 All Purpose Primer

Application

Always make a test area before the application to judge the suitability of the product. Follow the manufacturer's instructions at all times.

For interior use only. Do not apply when air or substrate temperatures are likely to fall below 8°C or when the relative humidity is above 80% during application or the drying period.

Stir well before and during use
Apply using either a good quality synthetic brush, medium pile roller
For airless spray, dilution may be required. For further information follow the spray manufacturer's guidelines
Under normal drying conditions touch dry in 1 hour and recoat after 4 hours at 20°C
Allow for adequate ventilation during the drying period
Certain colours may require additional coats to give complete obliteration

Aftercare

Between maintenance redecoration, surfaces may be washed with a warm water and liquid detergent solution to remove surface dirt.

Please Note: A small residue of colour may be wiped away when the painted surface is first cleaned. This is entirely normal and in no way compromises the integrity or finished appearance of the paint film. Marks on the painted surface can be wiped away with a damp cloth. The product will take 1 week to become fully cured and scrubbable.
