Overview
Cuprinol Garden Shades has been developed to add beautiful colours to your garden but also protect and waterproof wood for up to 6 years. It's perfect for sheds, fences, garden furniture as well as brick, terracotta and stone. Its specialist formula allows for rich, deep colour but allows the natural texture of the grain to shine through.
Please note, this product is not suitable for decking.
Preparation
Preparation
For the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
- Remove any flaking or peeling paint, stripping back to bare wood
- Lightly sand existing, sound paintwork for a key
- Treat any new bare wood with a suitable wood preserver prior to application of Cuprinol Shades
Application
Application
Always do a test area of before starting any project to assess product suitability. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin.
- Stir thoroughly before and during use, making sure to include pigment gathered in the top and bottom creases of the tin
- Apply 2 full, flowing coats with either a brush or spray
- Drying time between coats is 4 hours
- Subsequent coats of Cuprinol Garden Shades should be applied no longer than 8 hours apart- after this time light sanding might be needed to ensure adhesion

When it's time for a refresh, simply apply a coat of Cuprinol Garden Shades following the preparation and application steps above.
