Dulux Trade Quick Dry Satinwood is a water-based, durable satin finish for interior wood and metal. The user will experience the best of both worlds with a smooth durable topcoat, which will look like a traditional solvent-based finish but with improved drying times and less yellowing.
- For a traditional, solvent-based finish, see Dulux Trade Satinwood
To get the best out of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Satinwood, ensure that surfaces painted are clean, dry and free of dirt, dust and grease.
- Remove any flaking or defective paint with a paint scraper or wire brush. Rub down sound coating with P120 sandpaper for a key on the surface to aid adhesion and remove any dust with a slightly damp lint-free cloth
- Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960s painted surfaces as they may contain harmful lead
- Fill any gaps or splits in the timber with a dedicated wood filler
- On bare wood, use suitable knotting solution on any knotty, resinous timber
- When overcoating a factory primed substrate, or a stronger colour change is required prime with Dulux Trade Quick Drying Undercoat and allow to dry before application
Always try a test area before starting any project to assess compatibility of the final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times.
- Stir thoroughly before and during use
- Apply Dulux Trade Quick Drying Satinwood Paint using a high-quality synthetic bristle paint brush, spray or microfiber roller, following the direction of the wood grain
- Allow 5 hours to dry between coats
- Apply additional coats if required
Painted surfaces can be gently wiped down with a damp lint-free cloth to remove surface scuffs and marks.
When it's time for a refresh, simply apply a fresh coat of Dulux Trade Quick Dry Satinwood as required, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
