Osmo Interior Gap Sealer is an elastic, one-component, quick drying sealant for filling gaps, splits and holes in stone, concrete, plaster and finished and unfinished wood. Perfect for gaps in and around flooring, skirting boards, thresholds, treads and risers and so much more. Colour-fast and water-proof formula can be finished once dry and sanded after curing.
Coverage is dependent on gap width and depth but as an approximate guide, based on 3mm gaps, one 310ml tube will cover around 30 linear metres. Wider gaps will cause the length covered to decrease.
Perfect as a preparation product, when used in conjunction with Osmo Polyx Oil, Osmo Polyx Oil Raw, Osmo Top Oil and Osmo Door Oil or any other suitable product.
For the best results, ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free of dirt, dust and grease.
- Cut the seal off the screwed part with a sharp knife, leaving some thread intact to screw the attached nozzle to the tube
- Once the nozzle is attached and tight, insert into skeleton gun
- Trim the end of the nozzle for application to larger gaps at a quicker rate
- Porous surfaces such as plaster and cement can be primed with a mixture of Osmo Gap Sealer and 4-5 parts clean water prior to application
Always try a test area before starting any project to assess compatibility of the final finish. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tube.
- Apply Osmo Interior Gap Sealer directly to the affected area, working in smaller areas at a time, smooth the surface with a damp finger or tool if finishing, a smooth, proud bead can be left if not
- Excess can be removed whilst still wet with either a wet finger or a lightly dampened cloth, once dry excess sealant will have to be abraded from the surface
- Protect the exposed gap from moisture for 2 hours whilst the product is drying
- For larger gaps with a higher depth/width ratio of 1:2, apply in stages, allowing each application to fully dry before applying the next
- Allow to dry for 24 hours before use is resumed or finishes are applied
Depending on the situation, once dry Osmo Interior Gap Sealer can be finished with a suitable Osmo finishing product such as Osmo Polyx Oil, Osmo Polyx Oil Raw, Osmo Top Oil or Osmo Door Oil. See our full range of Osmo products here.
If the area that has been treated will not be subject to wear, such as the underside of cupboards or the gaps between skirting boards and the plaster wall, finishing of this product is not necessary.
