Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint. A tough and durable, opaque finish for all types of flooring and stairs. Ideal to compliment for striking carpet treads, to block out patchy or uneven finishes in the woodgrain or for a fresh new start in your living space.
Perfect for most flooring types, from wooden boards, chipboard and MDF to concrete and stone flooring. Protects your chosen space against scuffs, spills & scratches in just 3 coats. No primer or topcoat necessary.
Please note: this product is not suitable for self-levelling compounds or power floated floors.
For the best results with Ronseal Floor Paint, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
Any existing varnish or paint finishes can be lightly sanded with a p240 abrasive for adhesion, any flaking or peeling coatings need to be removed, back to a clean and fresh surface.
Wooden Floors
- Sand and remove back to bare wood any previous oil or wax finishes
- Fill any holes, cracks or imperfections in the surface with Ronseal High Performance Wood Filler
- Sand smooth the whole floor with p120 abrasives and remove sanding dust and other residue with methylated spirit
Concrete and Stone Floors
- Ensure newly laid concrete is thoroughly dry for at least a month before painting
- Sweep and vacuum and remove all traces of dust and debris
- Seal fresh new bare concrete floors with a thinned first coat with up to 10% clean water
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin.
Please note: this product will look considerably different in colour whilst wet but will even out whilst dry. Stir thoroughly before and during use, making sure to include pigment gathered in the top and bottom creases of the tin to minimise colour differences.
- Apply 2-3 generous coats with a microfibre roller or synthetic bristle brush
- For the best results with Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint, start in the corner opposite the door and work your back, working in small areas at a time, being careful not to overlap
- 2 coats may will be sufficient for most floors, although a third may be required for projects with a stronger colour change
When it's time for a refresh, simply apply a fresh coat of Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Paint, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
