Ronseal Garden Paint. Bright and bold weather protection for multiple surfaces across the garden. Ideal to add a splash of colour to garden sheds, fences, terracotta plant pots, brick garden walls, metal trim and decoration.
Please note: this product is not suitable for use on plastic, cast iron or areas that will take footfall, such as decking.
For the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
Wood
- Allow new wood to weather for up to 6 weeks and treat with a suitable wood preservative prior to painting, if necessary
- Remove any flaking or peeling coatings back to bare wood
- Remove any fungal or organic growth and treat with a suitable fungicide
- Fill any cracks or splits in the wood with Ronseal High Performance Wood Filler
- Lightly sand bare wood, wipe down with a solvent and allow it to dry, directly before application
Brick and Stone
- Brush away and wipe away debris before application
Terracotta
- Abrade the surface to remove any glaze
- Apply water to the terracotta to check for absorption,
- If water beads on the surface, continue abrading until this isn't the case and allow the surface to dry before applying Garden Paint
Metal
- Prime metal surfaces with Ronseal All Surface Exterior Primer and Undercoat
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin.
- Stir thoroughly before and during use, making sure to include pigment gathered in the top and bottom creases of the tin
- Apply 3 coats with a synthetic bristle brush, always finishing with a broad stroke
- Allow 4 hours between coats and lightly abrade between the second and third coat for the smoothest finish
Inspect annually for signs of wear and tear. When it's time for a refresh, simply apply a fresh coat of Ronseal Garden Paint, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
