Ronseal One Coat All Surface Primer and Undercoat. Primes a wide range of tricky substrates including metal, brick, stone, plastic, glass, kitchen and bathroom tiles and all types of wood, including MDF. Reduces the effect of strong colours and bold patterns in just one coat. This product does all the prep and reduces the amount of finishing coats required. For the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants.
Painted/Bare Wood
- Any flaking, loose paint should be removed back to bare wood
- Sand with P120 sandpaper in the direction of the grain
- Wipe down with methylated spirits (meths) to remove any residue and sanding dust
- Fill gaps, cracks and splits with a suitable wood filler, such as Ronseal High Performance Wood Filler
Tiles
- Clean down the tiles with a bleach solution
- Use a grout cleaner to get rid of any stains
- Rinse with a damp cloth to remove residue
- Repair any damaged grout and allow to cure
Metal- don't use on rust
- Abrade the surface with wet and dry paper, this isn't necessary for galvanised metal
- Wipe down with meths to remove all sanding debris
uPVC/Plastic
- Lightly abrade with P120
- Wipe down with meths to remove sanding debris
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin. Use only in well-ventilated areas.
- Stir thoroughly before and during use, making sure to include pigment gathered in the top and bottom creases of the tin
- Apply Ronseal One Coat All Surface Primer and Undercoat with a high-quality synthetic bristle brush, going in the direction of the grain
- Allow 2 hours to dry before the application of a suitable topcoat.
