Sandtex Brickwork Waterproofer and Protector. A water-based, silicone enriched sealant for brickwork, render, pointing, concrete, stone and plaster. Prevents the absorption of rainwater and protection from ice, snow and frost. By using such a barrier, you can ensure your home is protected from the long-term damaged caused by moisture ingress.
For the best results, ensure surfaces to be painted are sound, clean, dry and free from dirt, dust or any other surface contaminants, including flaking or peeling paperwork. Treat any organic, fungal growth with Sandtex Fungicidal Wash and allow to dry thoroughly.
Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin.
- Shake the can vigorously to mix contents of the tin
- Apply Sandtex Brickwork Waterproofer and Protector generously with a brush or roller
- Allow to dry for 1 hour before applying a second coat
- Leave to dry fully for 4-6 hours
Once Sandtex Brickwork Waterproofer and Protector has been applied, allow the surface to dry for at least 24 hours before exposing it to heavy rain or excessive moisture. Regular inspection and simple maintenance will help keep exterior masonry protected for longer.
- Allow the treatment to cure fully before exposing the surface to prolonged wet weather.
- Clean treated surfaces with water and a soft brush if dirt or algae begin to build up.
- Inspect exterior masonry periodically for signs that water is no longer beading on the surface, as this may indicate that another application is required.
- Repair any cracks or damaged mortar promptly to prevent water from penetrating the substrate.
- If you intend to paint the surface in the future, the water repellent treatment may need to weather or be removed to allow good adhesion.
- Store any unused product in a tightly sealed container, protected from frost and direct sunlight.
