Smith and Rodger Blockade Shellac Sealer Primer is an excellent option for all your interior stain blocking needs. Seals and blocks stains from water, smoke, mould and fire damage, nicotine, lipstick, crayon, odours from fire damage, cigarette smoke and damp. It can seal in tannins and wood knots, grease and even prime new, porous surfaces and block out strong colours, reducing the amount of lighter coloured emulsion required.
Blockade Shellac Primer is perfect for application to all different types of project from interior plaster walls, previously painted substrates, wood, metal, tiles and much more.

For the best results, with Blockade Shellac Primer ensure that surfaces to be treated are clean, dry and free of dirt, dust and grease. If unsure, always wash down with a household ammonia or detergent and water solution.
- Ensure the cause of any staining has been dealt with prior to application as this product cannot be applied to any active leaks
- Remove any active mould or mildew with a suitable fungicidal cleaner
- Remove any failing or unsound coatings and sand sound coatings down to a smoother finish for best adhesion
- Fill any gaps and nail holes with an appropriate filler
- Clean up any areas of rust with a wire brush
Always try a test area before starting any project to assess compatibility of the final finish. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin.
- Stir Smith and Rodger Blockade Shellac Sealer Primer thoroughly before and during use, making sure to reach the pigment in the top and bottom creases of the tin
- Apply with a high-quality synthetic bristle paint brush
- Only 1 coat is required for most projects, dry or porous surfaces might require a second coat
- Touch dry in 15 mins, overcoat with your chosen topcoat after 45 mins
